ADC Global Events 5-8

A Positive Weekend and Valuable Ranking Points

The weekend got off to a great start in the Friday night Money In, Money Out competition. While I managed to avoid any match-winning darts against me along the way, I found my rhythm when it mattered and came away with the title, defeating the ever-consistent and quality player, as well as a great bloke, Steve West 5–2 in the final.

Saturday marked the start of the main events, and heading into Event 1 I was feeling positive. I knew I needed a boost in confidence and, just as importantly, some valuable ranking points to improve my position on the global rankings. A Last 32 finish was a solid start, although missing match darts cost me a place in the Last 16. Despite that disappointment, I was pleased with how I played and the platform it gave me for the rest of the weekend.

Event 2 brought an even better result as I reached the Last 16. My performance was consistent and I felt I was playing some good darts, but it wasn’t quite enough to progress further. With Saturday complete, it was time to recharge with some well-earned food and rest before another day of competition.

Sunday began with Event 3. It wasn’t my sharpest start compared to the previous day, but I still managed another Last 16 finish while producing some of my highest averages for quite some time. It was encouraging to see signs that my game is moving in the right direction. Unfortunately, the momentum faded at the crucial stage and my run came to an end.

Event 4 followed a similar pattern, but this time there was a memorable Last 16 clash on stage against one of my best friends, Matt Yarrow. It certainly wasn’t a classic by our usual standards on the oche, but it proved to be a dramatic contest. After surviving match darts, a crucial 104 checkout brought me level, and I was able to edge over the line to secure the win. It may not have been pretty from either of us, but progression is what counts. Reaching the quarter-finals was my best result of the weekend, and although my run ended there, it was a positive finish overall.

Most importantly, I picked up valuable ranking points and moved up the global rankings, which was one of my main objectives heading into the weekend. There are still areas to improve, but the signs are encouraging and the confidence is building again.

Now the focus turns to August and the final four events of the series. I'm looking forward to the challenge and aiming to finish strongly.

Starting the friday night money in out comp was a good start to the weekend, avoiding match winning darts but in the end winning the event beating a quality player and bloke in steve west 5-2 in the final,

Satrday was the start of the events, and going into event 1 i felt good needing a slight boost in confidence and earning so well needed points also to boost me in the global ranking's, a last 32 for me for the first event, missing match darts costing me the last 16 spot but overall happy ith the start,

Event 2 as slightly better reaching a last 16 spot and playing pretty solid but wasnt enough and out i go and finished for the day, a fresh start tomorrow after som well deserved food and sleep :)

Sunday and event 3, started weak compared but a last 16 again hitting some of my highest averages in a while and seeing result but eventually the whells fell off and that as that...

Event 4 on sunday and again pretty much the same but this time last 16 match on the stage against my nest bud Matt Yarrow and although we played nothing compared to are usual battles on the oche after i survived match darts a crucial 104 see me bring it back equal and then managed to win the game, wasnt pretty from either of us but a progression into the quarters was my best so far and thats where the story ended but overall i gained poins and moved up the rankings on the global board which is what i needed to do :)

onto august now for the final four events
